Meet the Author: Nigel Paine and his Book, WORKPLACE LEARNING
Meet author, Nigel Paine. Nigel will present an overview and introduce his book, Workplace Learning: How to Build a Culture of Continuous Employee Development.
Nigel stipulates that companies need their employees to be both adaptive and agile as they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to improve on the job. For this to happen, L&D professionals must create a culture of workplace learning that supports and stresses continuous development. In other words, organizations need to move away from the traditional training catalog approach and become much more assertive and strategic as they integrate learning into the culture. Nigel will share several practice tips for making a more holistic and effective approach possible.

With over 25 years of experience in corporate learning, Nigel is a regular speaker, writer and broadcaster on the topics of development, technology and leadership. Between 2002 and 2006 he headed up the BBC’s Learning and Development operation. Following this, he started his own company company nigelpaine.com LTD that is focused on building great workplaces. He teaches on a doctoral programme at an Ivy League University, he has written three recent books, presents a monthly TV programme (Learning Now TV), and shares a weekly podcast (with Martin Couzins) called From Scratch.
