OVERVIEW OF OUR PROGRAMMING
Our goal at LDA is to inform, support, challenge, and help busy L&D professionals to navigate this complex field and solve their most pressing problems.
We offer regular programs monthly and bi-monthly, as well as special programs throughout the year, such as webinars, training sessions, or mini-conferences, that aim to do just that!
Some of our programs are free and open to the public, like “Meet the Author” or special webinars. Others are for LDA Members only.
We also offer workshops available to both members and non-members. Members benefit from a special price on all workshops.

Every month, join us for a live session with an author to discover their book.
Debates and Discussions
Every two months we host a playful debate on a specific topic within L&D to explore the nuance and application of those ideas. Our debates and discussions are really not about winning the argument. They are about unpacking complex ideas and concepts to enlighten L&D practitioners' thought process and decision making on the job.

Learning Insights Monthly with Will Thalheimer
Will Thalheimer's Learning Insights Monthly provides a reflection space for curious travelers within learning and development. Each month in an hour-long online meeting, Will introduces an important concept—often a provocative one—to get us thinking and sharing ideas.
In 2024, topics will include "the crap data problem" and the "learner blindspot problem" and other topics from his new book, The CEO's Guide to Training, eLearning & Work: Empowering Learning for a Competitive Advantage.
Will's Learning-Insight methodology brings together a mix of newbies and experienced learning professionals who all have one thing in common. They are completely mad for learning—the kind of folks who look for practical ideas and aren't afraid to push boundaries and share their thoughts and ideas—even if they are out on the bleeding edge.

Think like a… hosted by Clark Quinn
One of the important ways we advance is looking at adjacent fields for insights. Many of the practices we now embrace first showed up in other practices. Agile, design thinking, and more were all imported as approaches from elsewhere.
To honor and expand that opportunity, we’re introducing a new series for this coming year: Think Like A… In it, we will interview experts from related fields. You can expect to hear from designers in fields like games, interface, and more. We will look at practices from the perspective of engineers and sciences. We will also explore related media like video, graphics, story, and more.

You Oughta Know: Practitioner hosted by Clark Quinn
You Oughta Know returns, with a new perspective! Last year, we focused on folks who had intriguing (and perhaps underexposed) models about learning and performance that were useful and important. While we talked about practical applications, they weren’t the focus.
This year they are! We are going to talk to practitioners who are pushing boundaries. We will get into the pragmatics of succeeding, in a variety of ways. We look forward to the conversations which will provide insight in balancing the principles with pragmatics. You’ll be hearing some great insights into how learning can be improved in the real world.
