LDA was born out of The L&D Conference 2020 when participants at the end of the groundbreaking six-week online conference asked the organizers—Will Thalheimer and Matt Richter—to create a way to keep the community together. There was such a hunger for a coterie of professionals to share insights on research and practice, to bond as a diverse global community, that several groups formed spontaneously to continue to learn from each other.
LDA was born and as 2021 progressed, new needs and L&D realities became apparent. As L&D professionals—as human beings—we have confronted the angst and chaos of the coronavirus pandemic, and we’ve seen the technical upheaval in how learning gets done.
As what was needed throughout 2021 and continues to morph as we head into 2023, LDA is a community of L&D professionals that contribute to a brighter future. We track and interpret research, and generate and share unique, effective, and creative ways to support learners and overall work performance.
