In this twelfth review from Ruth she explores how a research report published in 2013 claimed that a synchronous online course  with daily testing compared with a classroom version not only improved learning in the online course but also in other concurrent courses students were taking.  In this article, a reevaluation of the original data debunked these claims. The 2013  flawed research was widely cited and was the basis for  a  wasted multimillion-dollar university project.
